Changes in the Pricing for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central On-Premises/NAV Subscription/ Enhancement Fees

This April Microsoft officially announced the changes in the pricing for the Dynamics 365 Business Central licenses. Microsoft published the updated on-premises Business Central subscription prices, which will come into force from October 2024. 

To simplify the overwhelming amount of information, we summarize the expected price changes for Business Central on-premises users. 
 

Purchases: 

  • An increase of up to 7% for Dynamics 365 Business Central On-Premises 
 
  • An increase of up to 19% for Dynamics NAV licenses

Subscriptions: 

  • An increase of up to 12% for Dynamics NAV and Business Central On-Premises Subscription licenses
 
  • On-Azure discounts will be reduced from 10% to 5%. This applies to only pre-existing Dynamics GP subscriptions, Dynamics NAV subscriptions, and Business Central on-premises customers.  
 

 For the Business Ready Enhancement Plan (BREP): 

  • From October 1, 2024, the yearly Enhancement Plans (known as Microsoft’s BREP) will increase from 18% to 19% for existing customers with Renewal Date after October 1, 2024. 
 

Microsoft has also announced the termination of the perpetual licenses for on-premises Dynamics 365 Business Central starting from April 1, 2025. New customers will not be able to choose perpetual licenses, but on-premises subscription licenses will still be available. Existing customers will be able to continue with their enhancement plans.  

Microsoft is progressively taking more actions in transitioning customers to the cloud and limiting the on-premises options, especially for new customers. As the purchase option for on-premises Dynamics 365 Business Central is already scheduled to be removed in just a year, Microsoft is gradually welcoming an increasing number of customers in the cloud.
